Management Consulting for Waste, Resources & the Environment
Waste Management Consulting
Klean Consulting is the management consulting arm of Klean Industries, providing leading-edge innovative solutions to clients worldwide. We advise municipalities, utilities, industrial producers and private operators on how material, energy and water move through their organisations & what it costs them when those flows are badly designed.
Consulting at Klean is not a slide deck exercise. The advice we give is shaped by an engineering parent company that designs, builds and commissions resource-recovery facilities, so recommendations are tested against what plants actually do once they are running.
What We Advise On
Our core expertise spans waste management, waste audit & recycling analysis, waste/sanitation & environment, contractual arrangements, research & strategy, energy/resources/environment, and financial management audit & accounting. Alongside these, we work in municipal-services enterprise development and social development, where service delivery depends as much on institutions and community buy-in as it does on equipment.
Those disciplines are deliberately linked. A recycling target that is not reflected in the collection contract will not be met. A sanitation programme that ignores the operating budget will fail in its third year. We look across the whole chain — policy, contract, operation, finance — because that is where value is won or lost.
Who We Work With
Clients come to us at different points. Some need a baseline: what is in the waste stream, how much of it is recoverable, what is it worth. Others are mid-procurement and need contract terms that will survive twenty years of operation. Others are testing whether a capital programme is justified at all. We size the engagement to the question rather than selling a fixed methodology.
Independent, Evidence-Led Advice
We do not begin with a preferred technology. We begin with measured data, local conditions, regulatory obligations and the financial envelope available, then narrow the options from there. Where a proposed scheme does not work, we say that too — early, while it is still inexpensive to change course.
Klean Consulting is wholly owned by Klean Industries and draws on the group's engineering, project delivery and audit capability. That relationship gives our clients access to technical depth that a standalone advisory firm cannot easily match, while the consulting engagement itself stays independent of any single vendor's interests.
Where Engagements Usually Start
Most clients arrive with a symptom rather than a diagnosis: disposal costs rising faster than volumes, a diversion target that is being missed, a contract renewal approaching, a regulator asking questions, or a capital proposal that nobody internally can fully defend. The first thing we do is separate the symptom from its cause, because the two are often in different departments.
